Job Overview:
The Driver position is crucial for supporting the EpiC project and the country office team by ensuring safe and efficient transportation for clients and project staff. The driver will be responsible for operating the vehicle to transport individuals to various destinations, assisting them during entry and exit from the vehicle, and providing other necessary courtesies. This role also includes the maintenance and care of the vehicle, ensuring it is clean and in good working condition. The driver will be expected to manage the vehicle's maintenance schedule, including regular oil changes and inspections, and to handle any major repairs as needed. The position requires adherence to road safety regulations and may involve fulfilling special requests such as running errands or delivering items. The driver will work under general supervision, receiving detailed instructions for new activities or special assignments, and will interact with individuals both within and outside the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Transport Country Office staff, consultants, and visitors to designated locations safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure the safety, cleanliness, security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, and maintenance of the vehicle at all times.
  • Perform day-to-day maintenance of the vehicle, including timely oil changes, inspections, and checking brakes and tire pressure.
  • Make arrangements for major repairs when necessary and ensure all vehicle documents are current, including insurance and vehicle logs.
  • Plan routes and requirements based on the schedule or ad-hoc requests from the office.
  • Ensure that all passengers adhere to road safety regulations during transportation.
  • Fulfill special requests by picking up and delivering items as directed and running errands as needed.
  • Provide protection for clients in locations deemed high risk, if required.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor, demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness to the needs of the team.

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • A valid driving license and a clean driving record are mandatory.
  • Must possess a trade test certificate.
  • Proven experience in the operation of large vehicles is preferred, or an equivalent combination of experience and training is acceptable.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have at least a High School Diploma or GED equivalent. This educational background is essential to ensure that the driver has the necessary foundational knowledge and skills to perform the job effectively.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 3 years of related driving experience. Candidates should have experience operating large vehicles and must demonstrate a strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and safety protocols. Experience in a similar role within a nonprofit or international organization is advantageous.

Languages:
While the job does not specify mandatory languages, proficiency in English is likely essential due to the nature of the organization and its international operations. Knowledge of Khmer would be beneficial given the location of the job in Cambodia.
