Job Overview:
The position of Consultor Formulacion ADIM 2030 involves providing consultancy services for the formulation of the Decarbonization Agenda for the Manufacturing Industry by 2030 (ADIM-2030), with a specific emphasis on the cement industry. The consultant will be expected to work virtually, with occasional meetings in Lima, Peru. The role is crucial in guiding the development of strategies and policies that align with environmental sustainability and climate change mitigation efforts. The consultant will be responsible for analyzing current practices, identifying areas for improvement, and proposing actionable plans that can be implemented within the manufacturing sector to achieve decarbonization goals. This position requires a deep understanding of industrial processes, energy efficiency, and clean technologies, as well as the ability to engage with various stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of the formulated agenda.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will be tasked with the following duties and responsibilities:
  • Conduct a comprehensive analysis of the current state of the cement industry in Peru, focusing on its carbon emissions and environmental impact.
  • Develop a detailed decarbonization strategy for the manufacturing sector, particularly the cement industry, that aligns with national and international climate goals.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including government agencies, industry representatives, and environmental organizations, to gather insights and foster partnerships.
  • Prepare and present reports outlining findings, recommendations, and proposed action plans to relevant stakeholders.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to discuss the decarbonization agenda and gather feedback from participants.
  • Monitor and evaluate the implementation of the proposed strategies, providing ongoing support and adjustments as necessary.
  • Ensure that all deliverables are completed within the stipulated timeframe of approximately 120 calendar days.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications:
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, chemical engineering, environmental science, or related fields.
  • At least seven (7) years of professional experience in either the public or private sector, with a strong focus on environmental issues.
  • Proven experience in industrial production processes, energy efficiency, clean technologies, or decarbonization initiatives.
  • A minimum of four (4) experiences in formulating plans, policies, or instruments related to environmental management or climate change.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable strategies.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as industrial engineering, chemical engineering, environmental science, or similar disciplines. Advanced degrees or certifications in environmental management or sustainability will be considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's profile for this consultancy role.

Experience:
The position requires a significant level of experience, specifically a minimum of seven (7) years in professional roles related to environmental management, industrial processes, or sustainability initiatives. Candidates should have a proven track record of working on projects that involve decarbonization, energy efficiency, or related fields, with at least four (4) specific experiences in industrial settings.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as the consultancy will involve communication with local stakeholders and the preparation of documents in Spanish. Proficiency in English is considered a valuable asset, as it may be necessary for engaging with international partners and accessing global resources.

This consultancy is structured as an individual contractor position, with a contract duration of approximately 120 calendar days. The work is primarily virtual, but the consultant will be required to attend meetings in Lima, Peru.
