Job Overview:
The Online Volunteer position at WOPA is designed for individuals who can assist the organization in creating a comprehensive business plan for its 2025 agriculture initiative. The role involves working under the guidance of a Program Officer or focal point to develop a business plan that effectively translates the organization's ideas into a structured and professional document. The volunteer will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in business plan development, showcasing a strong understanding of typography and layout design, as well as knowledge of NGO business planning. The goal is to create a realistic business plan that highlights the features and benefits of the proposed agricultural project, ensuring that the content is engaging and easily digestible for the intended audience. The volunteer will also be responsible for creating a newsletter and providing updates on progress, making it essential for candidates to have a portfolio that demonstrates relevant work experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop a comprehensive business plan for WOPA's 2025 agriculture initiative, ensuring it aligns with the organization's mission and vision.
  • Translate organizational ideas into a structured business plan that is professional and comprehensive.
  • Utilize strong typography and layout design skills to enhance the visual appeal of the business plan.
  • Highlight the features and benefits of the agricultural project within the business plan.
  • Ensure adherence to a professional and corporate aesthetic that reflects WOPA's values and work.
  • Create engaging content that is easily digestible for readers.
  • Provide initial concepts for the business plan and incorporate revisions based on feedback from the program team.
  • Develop a newsletter that communicates updates and progress related to the business plan and other organizational initiatives.
  • Maintain regular communication with the program officer or focal point to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in developing business plans, particularly in the context of NGOs or similar organizations.
  • Strong understanding of typography and layout design principles.
  • Ability to translate complex ideas into clear and actionable plans.
  • Experience in creating professional and comprehensive business documents.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey ideas effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and efficiency in deliverables.
  • A portfolio demonstrating relevant work experience in business plan development or related fields is highly desirable.

Educational Background:
A background in business administration, management, or a related field is preferred. Candidates with experience in non-profit management or agricultural development will be given priority. Relevant certifications in business planning or project management may also be beneficial.

Experience:
Candidates should have prior experience in developing business plans, particularly for non-profit organizations or projects. Experience in agricultural development or related fields is a plus. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of creating professional documents that meet organizational standards and expectations.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory, as all documentation and communication will be conducted in English. Knowledge of local languages spoken in Liberia may be considered an asset but is not required.

This is a volunteer position, and as such, it may not offer financial compensation.
