Job Overview:
The Driver position at UN Women is crucial for providing reliable and safe driving services to UN Women staff, high-ranking UN officials, and visitors. The role demands a high level of discretion, integrity, and responsibility, as well as an excellent understanding of protocol and security issues. The Driver is expected to demonstrate a client-oriented approach, courtesy, confidentiality, and the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse national and cultural backgrounds. Reporting to the Administrative Associate, the Driver may also be required to provide driving services to operations and program personnel, consultants, experts, and UN staff on mission. Additionally, the Driver will assist with basic administrative and clerical support to the UN Women country office, ensuring smooth operations and compliance with organizational policies.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Driver's duties and responsibilities include providing reliable and secure driving services by transporting authorized personnel, delivering and collecting mail and documents, and meeting official personnel and visitors at the airport. The Driver must ensure that all passengers wear seatbelts, adhere to relevant job-specific guidelines, and follow security protocols for transporting VIPs. Proper use of the vehicle is essential, which includes maintaining daily vehicle logs, ensuring compliance with environmental sustainability practices, and contributing to vehicle maintenance plans. The Driver is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle, ensuring it is clean, in good working condition, and making minor repairs as needed. The Driver must maintain all required documents and supplies in the vehicle and assist office personnel with protocol matters, filing, photocopying, and maintaining accurate records. The incumbent may also perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office and organization.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires the completion of secondary education and a valid driver's license. Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience as a driver in an international organization, embassy, or UN system, with a proven safe driving record. The role demands excellent driving skills, knowledge of driving rules and regulations, and good defensive driving skills. Skills in minor vehicle repairs and the ability to be punctual are also essential qualifications for this position.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have completed secondary education, which is a prerequisite for the position. Additionally, a valid driver's license is required to ensure that the candidate is legally permitted to operate a vehicle in the relevant jurisdiction.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience as a driver, specifically within an international organization, embassy, or UN system.
