Job Overview: The GBV Specialist - Team Lead position is crucial for providing leadership and guidance on gender-based violence (GBV) issues within the UNFPA Sudan Country Office. Duties and Responsibilities: The GBV Specialist - Team Lead will be responsible for providing strategic and technical guidance on GBV prevention and response, ensuring that programming aligns with international guidelines and best practices. Key responsibilities include:
Leading the GBV Programme Unit and supervising staff, ensuring effective implementation of GBV activities in line with UNFPA policies.
Developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with stakeholders, including UNFPA staff, implementing partners, and local authorities, to enhance the effectiveness of GBV programming.
Overseeing the integration of gender-sensitive approaches into GBV and sexual and reproductive health (SRH) programs, promoting rights-based and sustainable impacts.
Ensuring the collection and analysis of data related to GBV, facilitating monitoring and evaluation processes to assess program effectiveness.
Advocating for the rights of women and girls, participating in resource mobilization efforts, and ensuring the inclusion of GBV-specific information in relevant documentation.
Managing the GBV budget and work planning, ensuring responsible management of funds and compliance with donor commitments.
Providing technical supervision and on-the-job guidance to the GBV program team, ensuring adherence to ethical guidelines for working with survivors of GBV.

Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced degree (master's or equivalent) in fields such as social work, public health, gender studies, law/human rights, international relations, or other related social science disciplines. A minimum of seven years of proven specialized experience in GBV prevention and response is required, with a focus on humanitarian and nexus settings. Candidates should demonstrate leadership and management experience in a multinational and multicultural environment, along with technical knowledge of GBV-related morbidity and mortality reduction.
