Job Overview:
The Consortium Manager position at NRC Sudan is a strategic leadership role focused on managing a high-impact consortium aimed at delivering education and protection services to conflict-affected communities. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the Consortium Management Unit (CMU), ensuring effective coordination and implementation of consortium programs, and maintaining compliance with donor requirements. This role requires a proactive leader who can build strong relationships with partners and donors, drive program direction, and ensure that the consortium's objectives are met efficiently. The Consortium Manager will report directly to the Head of Programmes and will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the consortium's initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Consortium Manager include providing overall direction and leadership for the consortium, ensuring seamless operations and high-quality implementation of activities. The manager will coordinate with consortium members to ensure compliance with donor rules and accountability to beneficiaries. Daily management of the project will involve planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and budget oversight. The Consortium Manager will represent the consortium to stakeholders, including national authorities and donors, and will be responsible for managing the Consortium Management Unit, including recruitment and supervision of staff. Additionally, the manager will lead consultations for the next phase of the consortium, contribute to fundraising initiatives, and ensure effective communication among consortium members. The role also includes quality control of donor applications and reports, managing grant files, and facilitating consortium committee meetings.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in relevant fields, with at least 5 years of humanitarian experience across various contexts, including a minimum of 2 years in youth programs. A strong background in project management, particularly with multi-million Euro projects, is essential. Experience in consortium management or significant involvement in a consortium is required, along with the ability to develop training tools and information management systems for humanitarian action. Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work under pressure, and effective communication skills are also necessary for this role.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in relevant areas, preferably related to humanitarian work, project management, or social sciences. Advanced degrees may be advantageous but are not explicitly required.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of humanitarian experience, with at least 2 years specifically focused on youth programs. Candidates should have a proven track record of managing large-scale projects, particularly in a consortium setting, and should be familiar with the complexities of humanitarian operations in challenging environments.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of Arabic or other local languages would be considered an asset, enhancing communication with local stakeholders and beneficiaries.

Additional Notes:
The duty station for this role is Port Sudan, with a contract duration of 1 year and the possibility of extension. The position requires approximately 50% travel to project sites. The salary and benefits are based on Grade 9 Mobile contract terms.
