Job Overview: The Administrative Officer position at UNICEF Mozambique is pivotal in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective delivery of administrative support services across the Country Office, which includes the main office and multiple field offices. Duties and Responsibilities: The key accountabilities and duties of the Administrative Officer include:
Developing and implementing policies, procedures, and strategies for effective administrative management.
Managing the budget for administrative services, ensuring efficient allocation and utilization of resources.
Providing comprehensive administrative support and services to the Country Office and field offices.
Overseeing property management, including the maintenance and safety of facilities.
Arranging and controlling contracts related to administrative services.
Facilitating staff learning and development initiatives to enhance the skills and capabilities of administrative personnel.
Coordinating partnerships and collaborations with other UN agencies and stakeholders to improve administrative efficiency.
Supporting the UN Secretary General's Efficiency Agenda by identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices in administrative operations.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for this position, candidates must possess a university degree in social sciences, business management, administration, finance, or a related field. Additionally, candidates should have at least one year of relevant professional work experience in office management, administration, finance, accounting, ICT, human resources, supply, or other relevant functions. Experience in both national and international contexts is highly desirable, particularly in development, fragile settings, and humanitarian contexts. Knowledge of general maintenance methods and safety precautions related to facilities management is considered an asset, as is work experience in emergencyduty stations.
Educational Background: Candidates must hold a university degree in a relevant field such as social sciences, business management, administration, finance, or a related discipline. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of administrative management and supporting the operational needs of UNICEF in Mozambique.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of one year of relevant professional work experience.
