Job Overview:
The position of Graphic Designer for the Annual Results Report (ARR) involves creating visually appealing and coherent reports that effectively communicate the results and insights of the UN Country Team (UNCT) in North Macedonia. The contractor will work closely with the RCO, Data Management & Results Reporting Officer, and Communications Officer to design the ARR, which is approximately 25-35 pages long. The role requires the development of a modern visual identity for the ARR, adherence to UN branding guidelines, and the creation of infographics and visual elements that enhance the report's readability and impact. Additionally, the contractor will design a Joint Work Plan (JWP) template and prepare social media assets to promote the ARR launch. The position is remote and expected to last from January 20 to March 30.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Graphic Designer include:
  • Designing the Annual Results Report (ARR) by developing the complete layout and graphic design, creating a modern visual identity, designing covers and section dividers, stylizing data visualizations, and ensuring the document is publication-ready in PDF format.
  • Designing a Joint Work Plan (JWP) template with a clean layout, integrating visual hierarchy and typography, and ensuring consistency with the ARR's visual identity.
  • Preparing social media assets for the ARR launch, including 6-8 social media cards and a web banner, ensuring alignment with the ARR's visual identity.
  • Participating in design review meetings with the RCO, incorporating feedback, and producing up to three rounds of revisions for both the ARR and JWP.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for this position include a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in graphic design, visual communication, illustration, fine arts, or a related field. A diploma or certificate in graphic design combined with substantial relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a university degree. Additionally, at least 5 years of professional experience in graphic design and layout of reports or similar products is required. Candidates must demonstrate experience in producing layouts, infographics, and social media graphics, which can be evidenced by a portfolio or 5-6 samples of similar work. Experience working with international organizations, UN entities, or development partners is desired, and excellent command of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop (or equivalent tools) is essential.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent recognized degree in graphic design, visual communication, illustration, fine arts, or a related field. Alternatively, a diploma or certificate in graphic design combined with substantial relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a university degree. This educational background ensures that the candidate has the necessary skills and knowledge to perform the design tasks effectively.

Experience:
The position requires at least 5 years of professional experience in graphic design, specifically in the layout of reports, publications, or similar products. This level of experience is crucial for ensuring that the candidate can produce high-quality visual communication assets that meet the standards of the UN and effectively convey the intended messages.

Languages:
