Interns will work under the supervision of the Director of MFGD and the Chief of Macroeconomic Analysis Section. The internship is designed to provide practical experience in the field of macroeconomic analysis, finance, and governance, contributing to the overall mission of the ECA. Interns will engage in research and analysis related to sustainableeconomic development, governance, and poverty reduction in Africa. The internship is full-time, requiring a commitment of five days per week for a duration of 3-6 months, with the possibility of extension based on the needs of the division. This is an unpaid internship, and interns are expected to gain valuable insights and skills that will benefit their future careers.
Duties and Responsibilities: Interns will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities that may include conducting research and analysis on topics related to sustainable economic development, governance, and poverty reduction in Africa. They will provide inputs to and edit publications, papers, and other documents, and liaise with stakeholders within the MFGD. Additionally, interns will support the organization of meetings and events, assist with outreach activities, and participate in the day-to-day operational tasks of the division. This may involve servicing requests for information, developing presentations, and liaising with partner organizations. Administrative tasks may also be assigned as needed, allowing interns to gain a comprehensive understanding of the division's operations.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for the internship, applicants must be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second-level university degree or equivalent). While no prior work experience is required, applicants should demonstrate a strong interest in the work of the United Nations and a commitment to its ideals. Candidates must be computer literate in standard software applications, including MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, and MS Teams.
