Job Overview: The Driver position at UN Women Kazakhstan Country Office in Astana involves providing reliable and secure driving services for authorized personnel, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of discretion, integrity, and responsibility. The role requires excellent knowledge of operations, protocol, and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security issues, along with a client-oriented approach and the ability to work with individuals from diverse national and cultural backgrounds. The Driver will report to the Operations Analyst and will be responsible for the safe transportation of personnel, delivery and collection of documents, and ensuring compliance with vehicle management policies and safety standards. The position also entails maintaining the vehicle in good working condition and providing general administrative and logistic support as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide reliable and secure driving services, including transporting authorized personnel, delivering and collecting mail and documents, and meeting official personnel at the airport.
Ensure all passengers wear seatbelts and take immediate actions required by rules and regulations in case of accidents.
Maintain daily vehicle logs, including mileage, gas consumption, and servicing records.
Ensure the vehicle is kept clean and in good working condition, making minor repairs and arranging for major repairs as necessary.
Maintain all required documents and supplies in the vehicle, including insurance, vehicle logs, and first aid kits.
Assist office staff with administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and maintaining records.
Support the organization of public events, including conferences and workshops, and assist with procurement-related documents and procedures.
Maintain a database of vendors and service providers and conduct market research to keep it updated.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess excellent driving skills, a good knowledge of driving rules and regulations, and familiarity with local roads and conditions. Skills in minor vehicle repairs are essential, along with the ability to communicate effectively and follow up on assigned tasks. A professional appearance and punctuality are also required.
Educational Background: A valid driver's license is mandatory, and candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent. Additional training in defensive driving or vehicle maintenance is advantageous.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience, preferably in a similar role within an international organization or UN agency. Experience in providing logistical support and administrative assistance is also beneficial.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, and knowledge of Russian or Kazakh is an asset. Candidates should be able to communicate effectively in both spoken and written forms.
