Job Overview:
The Project Coordinator position is crucial in overseeing the activities related to the care and protection of unaccompanied migrant children (UMC) in Greece. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Chief of Mission and the Project Coordinator, ensuring that the IOM's child protection guidelines are adhered to in all Emergency Accommodation Facilities. This role involves close coordination with field teams to ensure that migrant services are delivered effectively and that beneficiaries receive the necessary assistance. The Project Coordinator will also be responsible for monitoring operations, collecting statistics, preparing reports, and ensuring that all project activities align with IOM policies and procedures. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt to the evolving needs of the migrant population.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Project Coordinator include overseeing the implementation of project activities in Emergency Accommodation Facilities, providing guidance and support to field staff, ensuring compliance with child protection guidelines, and maintaining communication with local counterparts. The coordinator will assist in monitoring day-to-day operations, collect and analyze data from field staff, prepare consolidated reports, and coordinate administrative procedures. Additionally, the role involves developing and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintaining a continuous flow of information within the unit, and conducting training sessions for newly recruited staff. The Project Coordinator will also be responsible for enhancing IOM's visibility and ensuring effective collaboration with local authorities and agencies.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Social Sciences, Humanities, Law, Psychology, or a related field, along with four years of relevant working experience. Alternatively, a high school degree with six years of relevant professional experience is acceptable. Previous experience in a similar role, particularly in direct assistance to migrants and refugees, is preferred. Familiarity with working in a multicultural environment is considered an advantage. Candidates should also demonstrate strong computer literacy in standard software applications, effective communication skills, and a commitment to IOM's values and principles.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as Social Sciences, Humanities, Law, or Psychology. Candidates with a high school diploma may be considered if they have significant relevant experience. The emphasis is on having a solid foundation in social sciences or related disciplines that equip the candidate with the necessary skills to address the complexities of migration and child protection.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of four years of relevant experience in a similar role, with a preference for candidates who have direct experience working with migrants and refugees. Experience in a multicultural environment is advantageous, as it prepares candidates to navigate the diverse challenges faced by the migrant population. The ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances is essential for success in this role.

Languages:
Fluency in Greek and English is mandatory for this position, both oral and written. Knowledge of French is considered an advantage, as IOM operates in multiple languages and effective communication with diverse stakeholders is crucial. Proficiency in additional languages may enhance a candidate's suitability for the role, particularly in a multicultural context.
