Job Overview: The Project Coordinator position is integral to the implementation of a project aimed at supporting unaccompanied migrant children (UMC) and vulnerable women in Greece. The role involves overseeing the monitoring and evaluation of activities conducted by implementing partners, ensuring compliance with legal frameworks and donor requirements. The Project Coordinator will work under the supervision of the National Cluster Coordinator and the Senior Project Coordinator Assistant, contributing to the development of evaluation tools and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for monitoring activities. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying and assisting UMC in precarious situations, providing interpretation services, and ensuring dignified accommodation for vulnerable populations. The Project Coordinator will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of services provided to these groups and will be expected to engage with various stakeholders, including governmental and diplomatic authorities.
Duties and Responsibilities: The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the monitoring and evaluation of project activities, providing guidance to implementing partners, and contributing to the development of evaluation reports. Specific duties include:
Assisting in the composition of evaluation reports that detail findings, conclusions, and recommendations for compliance with activities implemented by partners.
Contributing to the development of tools for evaluating the quality of services provided to UMC and vulnerable women.
Drafting standard operating procedures (SOPs) regarding operational procedures for monitoring activities.
Creating templates for recommendation reports to ensure compliance with legal frameworks and donor requirements.
Performing other related duties as assigned by supervisors, which may include liaising with stakeholders and participating in project meetings.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree in Humanities, Psychology, Social Sciences, or a related field from an accredited institution, along with a minimum of two years of relevant work experience. Alternatively, candidates with a high school diploma and at least four years of work experience will also be considered. A Master's degree in the aforementioned fields is advantageous. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and writing skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based management systems.
Educational Background: The educational requirements for this position include a university degree in a relevant field such as Humanities, Psychology, or Social Sciences from an accredited academic institution. Accredited institutions are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. Candidates with a high school diploma and significant work experience may also be considered, but a higher degree is preferred.
Experience: A minimum of two years of related work experience in a humanitarian setting is required. Candidates should have experience coordinating protection activities, a good understanding of child protection standard operating procedures (SOPs), and experience in preparing and performing monitoring activities. Experience in liaising with governmental and diplomatic authorities, as well as working with international organizations, is preferred. Candidates must also demonstrate the ability to draft clear and concise formal correspondence, project proposals, and financial reports.
Languages: Fluency in Greek and certified working knowledge of English (both oral and written) are mandatory for this position. IOM's official languages include English, French, and Spanish, and proficiency in these languages may be evaluated during the selection process, which could include written and/or oral assessments.
Additional Notes: This position is subject to local recruitment, and only candidates holding a valid residence and work permit for Greece will be considered. The appointment is contingent upon funding confirmation and the candidate's medical fitness for appointment.
