Job Overview:
The Project Coordinator position is integral to the successful implementation of a project aimed at supporting unaccompanied migrant children (UMC) and vulnerable women in Greece. The role involves overseeing the planning, management, and monitoring of operations related to the National Emergency Response Mechanism (NERM). The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring compliance with donor requirements and project objectives, preparing financial reports, drafting proposals and reports, and maintaining communication with various stakeholders. The position also requires the management of databases to ensure data accuracy and confidentiality, as well as providing administrative support for the project's operations. The Project Coordinator will work under the supervision of the National Cluster Coordinator and the Senior Project Coordinator Assistant, contributing to the overall mission of protecting and assisting vulnerable populations in Greece.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Project Coordinator include:
  • Supporting the planning, management, and monitoring of NERM's project operations.
  • Preparing financial reports and ensuring compliance with donor requirements and project objectives.
  • Drafting proposals, reports, and communications related to various stakeholders.
  • Assisting with the administrative aspects of NERM's activities.
  • Maintaining and updating relevant databases in accordance with IOM data principles, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned by supervisors.
  • Collaborating with partners and stakeholders to enhance project effectiveness and reach.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in Business or Public Administration, Management, International Relations, or a related field from an accredited academic institution, along with a minimum of two years of relevant work experience. Alternatively, candidates with a high school diploma or certificate and a minimum of four years of work experience will also be considered. A Master’s degree in the aforementioned fields is considered an advantage. Accredited universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in relevant fields such as Business, Public Administration, Management, or International Relations. Candidates with a high school diploma and extensive work experience may also qualify. A Master’s degree in these fields is advantageous and may enhance a candidate's application.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of one year of related work experience in a humanitarian setting. Candidates with experience in planning, management, and monitoring of operations are preferred. Additionally, experience in liaising with governmental and diplomatic authorities, as well as working with international organizations, non-governmental organizations, or government institutions, is highly valued. Demonstrated ability to draft and prepare clear and concise formal correspondence, project proposals, and financial reports is essential.

Languages:
Fluency in Greek and certified working knowledge of English (both oral and written) are mandatory for this position. IOM’s official languages include English, French, and Spanish, and proficiency in these languages may be beneficial. Language proficiency will be evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.

The position is subject to local recruitment, and only candidates holding a valid residence and work permit for Greece will be eligible for consideration.
