Job Overview: The Business Systems Manager at CIMMYT is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of the organization’s ERP initiatives. This role requires a deep hands-on understanding of Microsoft Dynamics 365, including Finance & Operations and Customer Engagement, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Power BI/Fabric for enterprise analytics. The manager will oversee the integration of various Microsoft Azure services and DevOps pipelines, ensuring effective database management and integration practices. The position also involves building and leading a high-performing development team, fostering an inclusive and learning-oriented culture, and promoting a DevOps culture that emphasizes collaboration and continuous improvement. The Business Systems Manager will work closely with the Solution Architect and PMO to maintain transparent progress reporting and ensure that all deliverables meet quality, timeline, and budget requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Business Systems Manager include:
Demonstrating a deep understanding of Microsoft Dynamics 365 and related technologies.
Leading the development team by setting clear goals, mentoring team members, and providing constructive performance feedback.
Creating an inclusive culture that encourages peer reviews, coding standards, and knowledge sharing.
Balancing workload and prioritization to ensure sustainable delivery pace and staff wellbeing.
Promoting a DevOps culture that emphasizes collaboration, continuous feedback, and automation.
Defining and controlling the Scope of Work for outsourced partners and ensuring deliverables meet quality standards.
Managing budgets, timelines, and quality deliverables effectively.
Maintaining a centralized Change Request and Problem resolution backlog and providing updates on progress.
Applying Agile practices and ensuring robust testing and UAT sign-off. 1
Identifying optimization opportunities in processes and architecture, and promoting reusable components and documentation.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a minimum of 6 years of experience in a similar managerial role within ERP development. They should have deep knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power BI/Fabric, Azure services, SQL Server, .NET framework, JavaScript, and API integrations. Experience with SAP Concur and Sapience platforms is also required. Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage both internal teams and external vendors are essential, along with a proven track record in managing budgets, timelines, and quality deliverables. Excellent collaboration skills with PMO and other stakeholders are necessary for success in this role.
Educational Background: The educational background required for the Business Systems Manager position includes a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in relevant areas such as project management or ERP systems would be advantageous and may enhance a candidate's qualifications for this role.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in a managerial role focused on ERP development. Candidates should have a proven track record of successfully managing ERP initiatives and leading development teams, demonstrating their ability to deliver quality results within budget and timeline constraints.
Languages: Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is mandatory for this position. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not explicitly required.
