Job Overview:
The Senior Manager position at CHAI is designed to support the COO's Office in driving high-impact, organization-wide strategic initiatives. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of strategy and execution, collaborating with senior leadership to shape CHAI's organizational priorities and address complex challenges. The COO's responsibilities include overseeing CHAI's 35+ country programs across three geographical regions and leading functional teams such as Program Performance Management, HR, Operations, and IT. The Senior Manager will report to the Chief of Staff to the COO and will work closely with an Associate and Senior Associate in the COO's office. The role requires a high degree of autonomy while effectively collaborating with leaders across various teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Manager will be responsible for driving high-priority projects from problem definition to implementation, managing multiple workstreams that involve diverse stakeholder groups. The role includes designing and executing rigorous problem-solving approaches related to internal organizational strategy, such as organizational design, culture, and performance. The Senior Manager will dynamically manage competing demands and shifting priorities to meet evolving organizational needs. Building trusted relationships with teams across the organization to provide strategic support on key change initiatives is essential. Additionally, the Senior Manager will develop executive-ready presentations and communications that are data-driven and synthesize complex information into clear narratives. The role may also involve direct line management of an Associate-level position, with minimal travel expected (10-25%) based on project needs.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have 10+ years of relevant work experience in demanding, fast-paced, and results-oriented environments, with prior management consulting experience strongly preferred. A proven track record of independently leading complex, cross-functional strategic initiatives from conception to completion in ambiguous environments is essential. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities are required, along with the ability to structure ill-defined problems and synthesize insights from diverse data sources. Experience working effectively in global, multicultural contexts and the capacity to collaborate remotely across geographies and time zones are also necessary. Candidates should be able to operate with high autonomy in unstructured, rapidly evolving situations while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships. Prior people management experience is a plus.

Educational Background:
An MBA or advanced degree in a relevant field is preferred for this position, as it provides the necessary theoretical foundation and practical insights required to navigate the complexities of organizational strategy and management.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience, particularly in demanding and results-oriented environments. Experience in management consulting is strongly preferred, as it equips candidates with the skills needed to lead complex strategic initiatives effectively. The candidate should also have a proven ability to work independently and manage cross-functional teams in ambiguous settings.

Languages:
