Job Overview:
The coordinator" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Finance Coordinator will play a crucial role in directing and coordinating all administrative, accounting, and financial services associated with the mission in Sudan. This position is responsible for ensuring the financial balance of the mission and compliance with Solidarités International procedures, donor requirements, and local laws. The Finance Coordinator serves as the primary point of reference for financial management, accounting, and budget monitoring, acting as a liaison between the mission and headquarters. The role involves collaboration with various departments, including Logistics, HR, and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security, and requires adaptability to a high volume of diverse projects and a volatile context. The initial priorities for the first two to three months include closing the accounting year for 2025 and improving operational processes such as archiving and voucherization, while also building capacity among local partners and staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Finance Coordinator's duties include directing all financial operations of the mission, ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations, preparing financial reports, and conducting analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">financial analysis. The role also involves managing the mission's budget, overseeing accounting practices, and ensuring accurate financial record-keeping. The Finance Coordinator will work closely with the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director and other program coordinators to align financial strategies with operational goals. Additionally, the position requires monitoring financial performance, providing guidance on financial matters, and supporting the development of proposals and budgets for new projects. The Finance Coordinator will also be responsible for training and mentoring finance staff and ensuring that financial systems are efficient and effective.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree in financial or accounting studies. A minimum of 3 to 4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector is required, with 0 to 2 years of experience in a similar position. Strong technical skills in financial systems and tools, financial reporting and analysis, and compliance with organizational and donor requirements are essential. Candidates should also demonstrate strong financial management capabilities and a thorough understanding of accounting principles.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree in financial or accounting studies is mandatory for this position. This educational background provides the necessary knowledge and skills to manage complex financial operations in a humanitarian context effectively.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have at least 3 to 4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with a focus on financial management. Experience in a similar role is preferred, with a minimum of 0 to 2 years in a finance coordinator position. This experience should include working in challenging environments and managing diverse financial projects.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in Arabic and French is considered an asset, as it enhances communication with local partners and stakeholders in the region.

  • The role is based in N'Djamena, Sudan, where living conditions are relatively good, with access to various amenities. The salary for this position starts from EUR 2860 gross per month, which includes a base salary and an annual leave allowance. Additionally, a monthly per diem of USD 750 is provided, along with coverage for accommodation and travel expenses. The organization offers a break system, allowing for time off every three months, and provides a comprehensive insurance package for expatriates, covering healthcare and essential vaccinations.
