Job Overview:
The Consortium MEAL-IM Coordinator is responsible for leading the design, coordination, and quality assurance of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, Learning (MEAL), and Information Management (IM) systems at the consortium level. This role is crucial in ensuring that the MEAL and IM systems are harmonized across all consortium members, strategic, realistic, technically sound, and user-friendly. The coordinator will work to ensure that partners can meet donor requirements, generate collective evidence, strengthen accountability to affected populations, and support learning and adaptive management. The position is vital in addressing the high volume of data, visualization requests, analysis, and expected proposals that arise from the consortium's activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Consortium MEAL-IM Coordinator include leading the development and implementation of the MEAL and IM strategy at the consortium level, ensuring that all consortium members adhere to the established guidelines and standards. The coordinator will be responsible for designing and overseeing data collection processes, ensuring data quality and integrity, and facilitating the analysis and interpretation of data to inform decision-making. Additionally, the coordinator will provide training and capacity building for consortium members on MEAL and IM practices, support the development of monitoring frameworks, and ensure that lessons learned are documented and shared among partners. The role also involves coordinating with various stakeholders, including donors, to ensure compliance with reporting requirements and to enhance the visibility of the consortium's work.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong analytical skills, with a proven ability to manage large datasets and derive actionable insights. Excellent communication skills are essential, as the role requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including consortium members and affected populations. The ideal candidate should have experience in designing and implementing MEAL and IM systems in humanitarian contexts, as well as familiarity with donor reporting requirements. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure are also necessary for this position.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as social sciences, statistics, or international development is required. A master's degree in a related discipline is preferred and may enhance the candidate's suitability for the role. Additional certifications in monitoring and evaluation or information management are advantageous.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation, with at least 2 years in a leadership role within a consortium or similar collaborative environment. Experience in humanitarian settings, particularly in conflict-affected areas, is highly desirable. Familiarity with various MEAL methodologies and tools is essential, as well as experience in capacity building and training of staff and partners.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within the consortium. Proficiency in Arabic is highly desirable, given the operational context in Sudan. Knowledge of additional languages relevant to the local population may be considered an asset.
