This Centre serves as a knowledge hub to advance gender equality in the Asia-Pacific region, facilitating research, education, training, and multi-stakeholder partnerships.

Job Overview:
The internship at the UN Women Knowledge and Partnerships Centre offers a unique opportunity for individuals to deepen their understanding of gender issues while developing practical skills in a professional environment. Interns will engage in various functions, including communications, partnership development, and event organization, while collaborating with both governmental and non-governmental institutions, as well as overseas UN Women offices. This role is designed to provide insights into supporting stakeholders in implementing international commitments to gender equality and women's empowerment. Interns will gain exposure to UN Women’s international and regional networks, enhancing their understanding of gender equality issues and the organization's efforts in the Asia-Pacific region. The internship is not only a chance to contribute to UN Women’s mission but also a way to build a solid professional foundation for a future career in international development.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will work under the supervision of the Gender Training Specialist and closely with the Programme Officer to support training and program activities aimed at transforming care systems. Key responsibilities include: assisting in the organization of training sessions and policy events, from conceptualization to implementation and follow-up; drafting background notes and concept notes through research; identifying resource persons and speakers; preparing program agendas and biographies of speakers; supporting the design of training/workshop assessment surveys; providing logistical support for activities, including note-taking and documentation; attending activities on-site and assisting with monitoring processes; supporting communication aspects of activities, such as outreach coordination and visual design of materials; and providing ad hoc support to other team members as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess academic backgrounds in international development, gender studies, social sciences, or other relevant fields at the university level. They should meet one of the following criteria: be enrolled in a postgraduate degree program (master’s or higher); be in the final academic year of a first university degree program (bachelor’s or equivalent); be enrolled in a mandatory national service program that includes the internship; or have recently graduated with a university degree and must start the internship within two years of graduation.

Educational Background:
The educational requirements for this internship include being enrolled in or having completed a university degree in fields related to international development, gender studies, social sciences, or other relevant disciplines. Candidates must be either enrolled in a postgraduate program or in the final year of their undergraduate studies, or have recently graduated within the specified timeframe.

Experience:
While specific prior experience is not mandatory, candidates with previous experience in organizing trainings or events in international settings will be preferred. Familiarity with Microsoft Office software and design tools such as Canva is also advantageous.

Languages:
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral, are required for this position. Fluency in Korean is considered a strong advantage, enhancing the intern's ability to engage with local stakeholders and resources effectively.

The internship is designed to provide a stipend to interns who do not receive financial support from other sources, helping to cover basic living costs during the internship period. The position is likely to be full-time, and candidates should be prepared to engage in a multicultural environment.
