The selected individual contractor will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and coherence of the report, which is a critical document for transparency and accountability in Jordan's governance. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities for this position include:
Conducting a thorough proofreading of the Biennial Transparency Report and the National Inventory Report to ensure grammatical accuracy, clarity, and consistency throughout the documents.
Reviewing the content for technical accuracy and ensuring that all data presented is correctly interpreted and represented.
Collaborating with the UNDP team to understand the context and objectives of the reports, ensuring that the final output aligns with the intended message.
Providing feedback and suggestions for improvements in the structure and presentation of the reports.
Ensuring that all proofreading tasks are completed within the stipulated time frame of 12 working days.
Communicating effectively with the UNDP team regarding any queries or clarifications needed during the proofreading process.
Submitting the final proofread documents in accordance with the submission guidelines provided by UNDP.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess strong proofreading skills with a demonstrated ability to edit and refine complex documents. A background in environmental science, public policy, or a related field is preferred. Familiarity with transparency and accountability frameworks, particularly in the context of governmental reporting, is highly advantageous. Candidates should also have experience working with international organizations or in similar roles that require a high level of attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.
Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in English, communications, environmental science, public policy, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or certifications in editing or proofreading are a plus, as they indicate a higher level of expertise in the field.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in proofreading, editing, or a related field. Experience working on governmental or international reports, particularly in the context of transparency and accountability, is highly desirable. Familiarity with UNDP processes and standards will be considered an asset.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, as the reports will be in English. Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage, as it may facilitate better understanding of the context and content of the reports. Additional languages may be beneficial but are not required.
