Job Overview:
The position of Consultant for Analysis of Kids Online Survey involves conducting a comprehensive analysis of the problematic use of digital devices among adolescents in at least four Latin American countries. The consultant is expected to produce a final document of 15-20 pages that includes key findings on the prevalence of problematic digital device usage, correlations with mental health, gender, and age, as well as policy recommendations. This role is crucial in understanding the impact of digital transformation on children and adolescents, particularly in the context of their early exposure to the internet and digital technologies. The consultant will leverage data from the Kids Online survey to provide evidence-based insights that can inform policy-making aimed at promoting digital inclusion and addressing the challenges faced by young people in the digital environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will be responsible for analyzing the effects of digital transformation on various stages of human development, particularly focusing on children and adolescents. Key duties include:
  • Conducting a thorough analysis of the prevalence of problematic digital device usage in at least four Latin American countries that have participated in the Kids Online survey.
  • Investigating the correlation between problematic usage, mental health issues, gender, and age demographics.
  • Compiling a section with policy recommendations based on the findings.
  • Providing a comprehensive overview of the implications of digital access and usage on the development of children and adolescents.
  • Collaborating with relevant stakeholders to ensure the findings contribute to the broader goals of the CEPAL-Corea project, which aims to enhance digital inclusion for social development.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a background in social sciences, communication, or a related field. A master's degree or doctorate is desirable. Additionally, candidates should have at least three years of experience in research related to digital inclusion. Familiarity with the Kids Online survey methodology is essential, as it will be a key component of the analysis.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a degree in social sciences, communication, or a related discipline. A higher degree, such as a master's or doctoral degree, is preferred, indicating a strong foundation in research methodologies and theoretical frameworks relevant to the study of digital inclusion and its impact on youth.
