Job Overview:
The Internal Audit and Ethics Manager role is designed to provide independent and objective assurance to Action Against Hunger's management and board regarding the identification, mitigation, and control of key organizational risks. This position is crucial for ensuring that the Internal Audit and Ethics Unit operates effectively and adheres to relevant policies and systems for conducting audits and investigations. The manager will also provide advisory services to senior management on the effectiveness of existing management, information, and administrative systems, while leading investigations into fraud and corruption cases. The role requires a proactive approach to designing, managing, and continuously improving the internal audit and ethics unit in compliance with industry standards and best practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Internal Audit and Ethics Manager will be responsible for developing an annual internal audit plan based on a risk-based methodology, implementing the plan, and issuing internal audit reports to management and relevant parties. The manager will follow up on outstanding management action plans to ensure that significant risks and deficiencies are addressed. Additionally, the role involves identifying key processes supporting financial reporting and assisting business process owners in documenting adequate internal controls. The manager will also conduct investigations into possible violations of the ACF Code of Conduct, assess allegations and complaints, prepare investigation plans, and communicate findings and recommendations to management. Regular updates on complex investigations will be provided to the Head of Internal Audit and Ethics and country leadership. The manager will also facilitate awareness of the ACF Code of Conduct among staff and partners.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree or its international equivalent in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Additional qualifications such as CPA/ACCA or CIA/CFE are advantageous, as is membership in a relevant professional body like IIA, ACFE, or ICPAK. The role requires at least 7 years of professional experience in investigation, auditing, or accounting, preferably in an international context or with not-for-profit organizations. Demonstrable experience in managing audits and investigations, particularly related to fraud and corruption, is essential.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or Economics is required. Advanced qualifications like CPA/ACCA or CIA/CFE are preferred, along with membership in professional organizations that enhance credibility and expertise in the field.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 7 years of professional experience in auditing, investigation, or accounting. Candidates should have a strong background in managing audits and investigations, particularly in contexts involving fraud and corruption, and should be familiar with the operational dynamics of international organizations or NGOs.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, with the ability to read and write effectively. Proficiency in French is considered a plus, enhancing communication capabilities in diverse environments.

Additional Notes:
The position is full-time and requires regular attendance of at least five days per week, with the possibility of working outside regular hours or on weekends as needed.
