Job Overview: The Medical Officer position at UNRWA involves providing essential healthcare services to Palestine refugees. The incumbent will be responsible for delivering general outpatient services, including specialized care in maternal and child health, managing non-communicable diseases, and facilitating hospital referrals as necessary. Duties and Responsibilities: The Medical Officer will have a range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Providing comprehensive outpatient medical services to patients, ensuring that all care is delivered in accordance with UNRWA's policies and procedures.
Offering specialized services in maternal and child health, as well as managing chronic conditions and non-communicable diseases.
Coordinating hospital referrals for patients requiring advanced medical care.
Engaging in the training and mentorship of healthcare staff, contributing to their professional development and ensuring adherence to best practices in patient care.
Filling in for absent medical officers, which may involve working at different health centers as needed.
Performing any other duties as assigned by the Head of the Health Centre or other supervisory personnel, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to the agency's mission.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a medical degree from an accredited institution, which includes a minimum of twelve months of internship experience. Additionally, a valid governmental license to practice medicine in Syria is required. Employees will receive one day of annual leave and one day of sick leave for each completed month of service.
