Job Overview:
The Project Assistant position at UN Women in Yerevan is designed to provide comprehensive programme, administrative, and logistical support to ensure the effective planning, implementation, and monitoring of various programmes and initiatives. The role is pivotal in assisting the Women’s Economic Empowerment Programme Specialist and Portfolio Manager for South Caucasus. The Project Assistant will be responsible for a range of tasks that include administrative support for programme management, financial management, logistical arrangements for events, and resource mobilization. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and effective communication skills to facilitate collaboration among team members and stakeholders. The Project Assistant will also play a crucial role in knowledge building and sharing within the organization, contributing to the overall mission of UN Women.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative and logistical support to the formulation and management of programmes, including preparing work plans, budgets, and proposals, tracking fund delivery, and supporting executing partners with routine reporting.
  • Assist in financial management by creating projects in the Quantum system, preparing budget revisions, and monitoring project finances.
  • Organize logistical arrangements for meetings, workshops, and events, including travel arrangements for the Programme Team and drafting meeting minutes.
  • Support resource mobilization efforts by compiling documentation and information from donors and the programme team.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing by organizing training sessions for office personnel and partners.
  • Perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a minimum of secondary education, with a Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration being desirable. Candidates must demonstrate strong administrative skills and experience in programme management or support. Proficiency in using multiple office software packages and familiarity with ERP systems, preferably Oracle Cloud, is also required. Additionally, candidates should possess good financial and budgeting skills, as well as the ability to manage data and documents effectively.

Educational Background:
Completion of secondary education is required for this position. A Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration is preferred, as it provides a solid foundation for the administrative and programme management tasks expected in this role.

Experience:
Candidates must have at least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in administrative or programme management/support roles. If the candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree, a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is acceptable. Experience in a computer environment using various office software packages is essential, and familiarity with ERP systems is desirable. Experience in supporting a team is also beneficial.

Languages:
Fluency in Armenian and English is required for this position. Additionally, fluency in Russian is desirable, and knowledge of another official UN language (such as French, Arabic, Chinese, or Spanish) is considered an asset.
