Job Overview:
The ICT Consultant will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective and secure operation of UN Women’s ICT environment, adhering to corporate ICT Policies, Standards, and Work Instructions. The consultant will be responsible for introducing new technologies and ensuring the effective functioning of hardware, software, and network systems. This position requires providing administrative support and facilitating knowledge building and sharing within the Albanian Country Office. The consultant will implement ICT strategies and ensure compliance with corporate information management and technology standards, guidelines, and procedures. The role also involves developing and reviewing internal ICT policies, providing IT support, maintaining hardware and software, and ensuring the security and integrity of ICT resources. The consultant will collaborate with various stakeholders, including UN Women Albania staff and ICT teams from other UN agencies, to ensure the smooth operation of ICT services.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant's duties include implementing ICT strategies and introducing new technologies in compliance with corporate standards. Specific responsibilities involve developing and reviewing internal ICT policies, providing IT support for corporate applications, installing and maintaining hardware, advising on hardware acquisitions, making routine repairs, ensuring protection against virus attacks, maintaining an inventory of software and hardware, ensuring a stable network environment, configuring network printers, troubleshooting network problems, managing Local Area Network (LAN) infrastructure, advising on procurement of new ICT equipment, maintaining inventory of supplies, providing ICT support for key events, and ensuring onboarding requirements for new staff are met. The consultant will also report to the Operations Manager and submit monthly reports, collaborating with various UN Women offices and other UN agencies.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field. Additionally, certifications in Microsoft and CompTIA are required. The role demands a strong understanding of ICT policies and procedures, as well as the ability to implement and manage ICT strategies effectively. Candidates should demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to provide guidance and support to team members and stakeholders.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field is mandatory for this position. Relevant certifications in Microsoft technologies and CompTIA are also required to ensure the consultant has the necessary technical knowledge and skills to perform the job effectively.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 12 years of progressively responsible experience in network administration, including the use of hardware and software, as well as telecommunications facilities. Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, and SharePoint is essential, along with proficiency in using multiple office software packages. Experience in supporting a team is considered desirable, indicating the need for strong collaborative skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Albanian is required for this position. Proficiency in these languages is essential for effective communication within the organization and with stakeholders, ensuring that the consultant can fulfill their responsibilities and collaborate effectively with team members and clients.

Additional Notes:
This consultancy is office-based, requiring the consultant to work for 8 working days per month. The position emphasizes the importance of core values such as integrity, professionalism, and respect for diversity.
