Job Overview:
The Communication and Knowledge Management Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting two significant U.S. Government-funded projects managed by FHI 360, namely EpiC Thailand and Global Health security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security (GHS) Thailand & Regional. The primary responsibility of this position is to implement a wide range of communications and knowledge management activities that facilitate the development and dissemination of high-quality organizational content across various platforms. This includes creating reports, newsletters, policy briefs, and managing social media communications. The Specialist will also be responsible for ensuring that all communications are clear, consistent, and aligned with the organization's objectives. Additionally, the role involves project management responsibilities, overseeing the execution of communication initiatives from planning through delivery, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to stay updated on program developments and priorities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Communication and Knowledge Management Specialist include:
  • Content Development and Editorial Support: Research and write a variety of communication materials, ensuring clarity and alignment with organizational messaging.
  • Communications Strategy and Messaging: Support the development of communication strategies to promote organizational initiatives and contribute to internal communication efforts.
  • Project Management and Coordination: Serve as project manager for communication initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and coordination with various departments.
  • Events and Outreach: Provide support for events and community outreach activities, enhancing staff engagement and understanding of organizational goals.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams and leadership to gather information and develop accurate content.
  • Knowledge Capture and Documentation: Collect and document programmatic information and best practices from project activities.
  • Development of Knowledge Products: Create high-quality knowledge products such as reports and toolkits, ensuring alignment with technical priorities.
  • Knowledge Sharing and Dissemination: Manage the dissemination of knowledge products and maintain an organized repository of resources.
  • Learning and Continuous Improvement: Facilitate learning sessions and identify opportunities for program learning. 1
  • Data-to-Action Support: Work with M&E teams to translate data into actionable recommendations. 1
  • Digital Knowledge Systems: Maintain and strengthen digital platforms for knowledge storage and dissemination. 1
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure all knowledge products meet USAID branding and reporting requirements.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Communication and Knowledge Management Specialist position include:
  • Strong writing, editing, and content development skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and familiarity with graphic design tools.
  • Experience with digital knowledge management processes and social media strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain professionalism.

Educational Background:
Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Knowledge Management, Public Health, International Development, or a related field. A Master’s degree is considered an asset but is not mandatory.

Experience:
A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in communications, knowledge management, or public information is required, preferably within international development or public health programs. Experience working with US government-funded projects is strongly preferred, along with a demonstrated ability to produce high-quality communication products and coordinate knowledge management systems.

Languages:
Fluency in written and spoken English is required, with proficiency in Thai strongly preferred. Additional regional languages are considered an advantage.

This position may require occasional domestic travel (typically less than 10%).
