Job Overview:
The Learning and Advocacy Analyst position is crucial for the planning and execution of the Peace Is Campaign, which aims to promote women's roles in peace and humanitarian efforts. The incumbent will coordinate the implementation of Peace Is Summits and regional activities, working closely with colleagues to plan and execute initiatives that engage various stakeholders, including civil society organizations, academic partners, and member states. The role requires collaboration with the Global Learning Hub Coordination Specialist to integrate campaign outputs into the Global Women’s Peace Forum, ensuring that the initiatives align with the overarching goals of the campaign. The analyst will also support monitoring and evaluation efforts, collecting data to assess the campaign's impact and drafting reports that summarize key outcomes. This position demands a proactive approach to advocacy and partnership building, as well as a commitment to promoting gender equality in peace and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security contexts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the implementation of Peace Is Summits and Regional Activities, ensuring effective collaboration with colleagues to plan and execute at least two regional initiatives for the Peace Is Campaign.
  • Support the implementation of at least two Peace Is All of Us Summits, facilitating general advocacy for the campaign.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with academic institutions and civil society organizations to enhance the campaign's reach and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with the Coordination Specialist/Special Assistant to develop and finalize the Global Women’s Peace Forum (GWPF) Concept Note and budget, ensuring oversight of financial resources.
  • Coordinate outreach efforts to civil society organizations and key stakeholders attending the GWPF, fostering synergies between the Peace Is campaign and previous GWPF initiatives.
  • Support the development of a monitoring and evaluation (M&E) matrix for the Peace Is Campaign, systematically collecting and analyzing data to inform campaign strategies.
  • Liaise with the M&E Team to confirm data accuracy and draft the Peace Is Summary Report, highlighting key outcomes and lessons learned.
  • Assist in the development of new courses for the WPHF Global Learning Hub and support the coordination of mentorship schemes and peer exchanges related to the campaign.
  • Manage the database of WPHF Global Learning Hub members, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among participants. 1
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the efficient functioning of the office and the organization.

Required Qualifications:
  • A Master’s degree or equivalent in Political Science, Law, Social Science, Economics, International Development Studies, Gender/Women's Studies, or a related field is required.
  • A Bachelor's degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.
  • At least two years of progressively responsible experience at the international level in capacity building for projects or programs.
  • Experience working with NGOs or grassroots civil society organizations is essential.
  • Familiarity with learning methods and management of web-based platforms is required.
  • Experience with small grants management is considered an asset.
  • Experience supporting the implementation of advocacy campaigns is preferred.
  • International experience is desired, showcasing the ability to work in diverse cultural contexts.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree or equivalent in relevant fields such as Political Science, Law, Social Science, Economics, International Development Studies, or Gender/Women's Studies. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree with two additional years of relevant experience may be accepted. This educational background ensures that candidates have a solid understanding of the complexities surrounding gender equality, peace, and humanitarian issues, which are central to the role.

Experience:
The position requires at least two years of progressively responsible experience at the international level, particularly in capacity building for projects and programs. Candidates should have a proven track record of working with NGOs or grassroots civil society organizations, demonstrating their ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders. Experience with learning methodologies and the management of web-based platforms is essential, as is familiarity with small grants management. Additionally, candidates should have experience supporting advocacy campaigns, which is preferred, and international experience is highly desirable to navigate the global landscape of gender equality and humanitarian efforts.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization. Fluency in French and Arabic is desirable, reflecting the organization's commitment to inclusivity and diversity in language. Knowledge of another official UN language, such as Chinese, Russian, or Spanish, is also considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage with a broader range of stakeholders and partners.

The position may involve a duty station that will be determined at a later stage, with options including New York, Bonn, or Geneva.
