Job Overview: The Protection Coordinator (CSP) position is designed to provide technical oversight and project management for Civilian Self Protection (CSP) programming under the Protection from Violence (PfV) Core Competency. The role involves implementing project activities, managing Protection Officers and Assistants, and ensuring the effective delivery of protection services. The coordinator will oversee the protection staff, offering technical support, coaching, and guidance, while also developing training modules tailored to the needs of the project staff. This position requires a proactive approach to monitoring and evaluating project activities, assessing progress, and addressing any issues that arise. The coordinator will also be responsible for maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders, including partner agencies, community leaders, and service providers, to ensure a collaborative approach to protection efforts. Additionally, the role includes generating internal and external reports on protection projects and participating in program reviews and planning meetings as necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Protection Coordinator will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:
Overseeing and providing technical support to Protection staff, ensuring they receive adequate coaching and supervision.
Developing and implementing training modules for project staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in protection-related work.
Monitoring and evaluating the quality of project activities, providing solutions and reporting issues as needed.
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with relevant stakeholders, including local authorities, municipalities, and partner NGOs.
Ensuring effective Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) processes for protection projects, including qualitative and quantitative assessments.
Participating in periodic program reviews and planning meetings, contributing to the strategic direction of protection initiatives.
Generating internal and external reports on protection projects as required by the Protection Project Manager.
Performing any other tasks assigned by the Protection PM and Protection from Violence Specialist.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in protection-related work, demonstrating a solid understanding of the field. A university degree in social work, peace and conflict studies, human rights, or a related field is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook is essential. Additionally, candidates must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and Arabic.

Additional Notes: This position is based in Gaza and is classified as Grade (07) Step (01). The contract duration is 6 months, with the possibility of renewal based on the needs of the position, available funding, and performance.
