Job Overview: The position of Data and Monitoring Analyst is crucial for the implementation of the Horizontes Amazonía program, which aims to provide comprehensive educational proposals for adolescents in the Amazon regions of Peru. The analyst will support the technical implementation of monitoring strategies and data analysis, contributing to evidence-based decision-making and continuous feedback for the program. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders, including schools, communities, and government authorities, to enhance pedagogical and institutional capacities. The analyst will be responsible for designing, executing, reporting, and utilizing information generated by the monitoring strategy, ensuring that the program meets its objectives effectively. The position requires a strong focus on integrating territorial, gender, and intercultural approaches into the monitoring and evaluation processes.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Data and Monitoring Analyst will perform a variety of tasks, including:
Collaborating in organizing semi-annual meetings for monitoring and planning with territorial partners.
Supporting the design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation strategies aligned with UNESCO's logical model.
Participating in the development and updating of technical sheets for indicators and organizing baseline data and annual targets.
Developing or adapting data collection instruments such as surveys and interviews.
Consolidating, cleaning, and processing databases from surveys and secondary sources.
Analyzing program indicators quantitatively and qualitatively every semester, including disaggregated data by sex, age, and ethnicity.
Collaborating with regional technical teams in using monitoring tools.
Supporting the periodic monitoring of information delivery to partners.
Managing and coordinating the database of adolescents and teachers for tracking their educational trajectories. 1
Creating visual reports and infographics to communicate program progress. 1
Assisting in the collection and analysis of surveys to gather adolescents' expectations regarding public services and socio-emotional well-being. 1
Designing interactive dashboards using tools like Power BI or Tableau. 1
Contributing to the dissemination of good practices and program results through reports and articles.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Sociology, Health, Education, Psychology, Engineering, or related fields. A minimum of 5 years of professional experience is required, with at least 3 years specifically in data analysis, monitoring, or evaluation of projects. Experience in rural or indigenous areas is essential, and prior work in the Amazon region will be considered an advantage. Candidates should have experience in managing databases and graphical representation of data across at least four projects or consultancies. Additionally, applicants must submit at least two documents that demonstrate their proficiency in the required experience.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as Statistics, Economics, Sociology, Health, Education, Psychology, or Engineering. Experience: The position requires a minimum of 5 years of professional experience, with at least 3 years dedicated to data analysis, monitoring, or evaluation of projects. Candidates should have experience working on two or more projects in rural or indigenous settings, with a preference for those who have worked in the Amazon region. Furthermore, experience in managing databases and representing data graphically across multiple projects is essential.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish at a native level is mandatory, while a minimum intermediate level of English is also required. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly in the context of working with diverse communities in the Amazon region.
Additional Notes: The contract for this position will last for eleven (11) months, subject to budget availability and satisfactory performance evaluation. The contract does not include expectations for renewal or conversion to another type of contract, nor does it provide coverage for medical services.
