Job Overview: The Associate Reporting Officer plays a crucial role in the production, editing, and quality control of reports for the Area of Responsibility (AOR). This position requires the incumbent to gather and analyze information from various UNHCR sections and maintain effective professional relationships with donors, operational partners, and other stakeholders. The role involves systematizing and sharing accurate and timely information to promote UNHCR's vision and strategic goals. The Associate Reporting Officer is expected to draft regular updates and reports, consolidate data on program implementation, and support the monitoring of partnerships. The position demands strong communication skills, the ability to work under pressure, and effective organizational capabilities. The candidate will also be involved in preparing briefing kits, presentations, and reports for donors, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, and enhancing donor satisfaction through quality reporting.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Associate Reporting Officer include keeping abreast of developments in the country operation, drafting regular updates for internal and external audiences, consolidating and analyzing data on program implementation, participating in annual reporting and planning processes, and working closely with Information Management for accurate data presentation. The officer will assist in preparing briefing kits and presentations for missions, prepare reports for donors, research and analyze information for reporting, and provide technical support on UNHCR's reporting policies. Additional responsibilities include preparing press releases, supporting inter-agency coordination initiatives, managing risks, and performing other related duties as required.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess strong spoken and written communication skills, experience in researching and analyzing information, and the ability to draft internal and external documents. They should have experience in project proposal preparation and donor reporting, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects under pressure. Familiarity with donor visibility and event planning is also desirable. The candidate should demonstrate effective organizational and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships.
Educational Background: The position requires a minimum of an undergraduate degree in fields such as Journalism, Public Administration, Communication, International Relations, Political Science, Law, or other relevant areas. Candidates with a graduate degree or doctorate will have their experience requirements reduced accordingly, with 2 years of relevant experience for a graduate degree and 1 year for a doctorate.
Experience: The Associate Reporting Officer should have at least three years of relevant experience, preferably with an international organization or in humanitarian settings. Experience in conducting meetings, reporting, program/project development, and donor relations is essential. Desirable experience includes working in field missions, at UN Headquarters, and in international affairs, humanitarian affairs, or journalism.
Languages: Proficiency in English, Spanish, and Korean is mandatory, with a minimum B2 level in spoken and written forms. Knowledge of additional languages is considered an asset, particularly for roles involving international communication and collaboration.
