Job Overview:
The position of Individual Contractor for Editing and Design involves a part-time role focused on the editing and design of the Technical Cooperation Highlights for the years 2024-202
  • The contractor will be responsible for producing a polished electronic manuscript that is approximately 20,000 words long, along with a well-designed report suitable for both print and digital formats. This includes creating infographics, figures, tables, and graphs, as well as ensuring that the content is engaging and accessible to the intended audience. The contractor will also be tasked with producing video testimonials that highlight success stories related to the Technical Cooperation Highlights, requiring skills in video editing and storytelling.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Individual Contractor include:
  • Editing and Design: a) Editing the Technical Cooperation Highlights report to ensure high editorial quality, including copy editing, line editing, and proofreading. This involves reducing text, synthesizing key findings, ensuring consistency in language, and applying UN/ESCAP editorial style. b) Developing a design for the report, including creating infographics and visual elements for both print and digital formats. c) Creating modular components of the report for easy dissemination, allowing sections to be downloaded or printed on demand.
  • Individual Testimonials: Producing five video testimonials that support the narrative of the Technical Cooperation Highlights. This includes editing footage, inserting captions, and embedding design elements into the final video products.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a first-level university degree and 5 to 7 years of relevant working experience in areas such as technical editing, communications, journalism, public information, video production, or public administration. The contractor should possess strong editing skills and experience with ESCAP or United Nations documents and publications.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have at least a first-level university degree in a relevant field. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of technical editing and design work required for the position.

Experience:
The role requires 5 to 7 years of professional experience in technical editing and communications, which may include journalism, public information, video production, or related fields.
