This project aims to facilitate cross-border data sharing and enhance digital public services, contributing to the development of an integrated digital services market. The contractor will assist in research, stakeholder engagement, and capacity building, ensuring that the project meets its objectives and delivers high-quality outcomes.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Individual Contractor will have a range of responsibilities, including: 1) Supporting the graphic and layout design of reports in accordance with the United Nations Editorial Manual and ESCAP branding guidelines. 2) Assisting the project officer in drafting the next project plan, focusing on digital data, AI, or connectivity. 3) Organizing and supporting project group meetings, including an offline workshop event at the end of 2025, and contributing to the development of materials such as concept notes, participant lists, meeting minutes, and final reports. 4) Drafting a questionnaire for evaluating events and meeting reports to assess participants' knowledge and capacity regarding cross-border data-sharing frameworks and policies. 5) Supporting the finalization of previous research, assisting in ongoing studies, and contributing to the formulation of subsequent research directions. 6) Providing support for other project-related activities as required, ensuring effective project implementation and stakeholder engagement.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a major in ICT, social science, economics, public administration, statistics, or a related field. They should have strong skills in developing policy papers, technical ICT reports, and UN publications. Proven research and writing skills are essential, along with consulting experience in ICT policy recommendations at national or subregional institutions. Experience working with the UN and managing projects and reports is also required, demonstrating the ability to navigate complex organizational structures and deliver results effectively.
Educational Background: A relevant educational background is essential for this position, with a focus on fields such as Information and Communication Technology (ICT), social sciences, economics, public administration, statistics, or data-related disciplines.
