Job Overview:

Duties and Responsibilities:
The expert will be tasked with several key responsibilities, including but not limited to:

• Developing and implementing data management policies and procedures that align with UNDP's strategic goals.
• Collaborating with project teams to identify data needs and ensure that data collection methods are robust and reliable.
• Conducting training sessions for staff on data management best practices and tools.
• Monitoring and evaluating data management processes to ensure compliance with established standards.
• Providing technical support in the use of data management software and tools.
• Analyzing data to generate insights that inform project planning and implementation.
• Preparing reports and presentations on data management activities and outcomes for stakeholders.
• Engaging with external partners and stakeholders to promote data sharing and collaboration.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong background in data management, with a proven track record of developing and implementing data strategies in complex environments. A thorough understanding of data governance frameworks and best practices is essential. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable insights. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders. Candidates should also be proficient in data management software and tools, with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement in the field of data management.

Educational Background:
A master's degree in data science, information management, statistics, or a related field is required. Candidates with a PhD in a relevant discipline will be given preference. Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in data management or a related field. Experience working with international organizations, particularly in the context of development projects, is highly desirable. Proven experience in managing large datasets and utilizing data analytics tools is essential. The ideal candidate will have experience in training and capacity building in data management practices.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the working language of the UNDP. Proficiency in French and Arabic is highly desirable, given the context of the position in Tunisia. Candidates who can demonstrate multilingual capabilities will have an advantage in this role.

Additional Notes:
This position is offered as a one-year contract, with a total of 40 working days expected over the contract period. The role is classified as an individual contractor position, and candidates should be prepared to work flexibly to meet project demands.
