Job Overview:
The Director of Global Talent Management will lead a significant transformation of CHAI's people systems and practices across its global organization. This role presents a unique opportunity to build a comprehensive talent infrastructure from the ground up, shaping how CHAI develops, recognizes, and retains its diverse workforce. The Director will be a key member of the HR leadership team, reporting to the Head of People, and will be responsible for designing and implementing foundational systems that support the organization's mission. This position requires a hands-on approach, as the Director will supervise a team focused on compensation, performance enablement, and learning and development. The successful candidate will work closely with HR Business Partners and collaborate with programmatic and country leadership to ensure the adoption of new systems throughout CHAI's historically decentralized organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Director will oversee a comprehensive overhaul of CHAI's compensation framework and job architecture, which is a top priority for the organization in 202
  • Responsibilities include leading the redesign of compensation structures to align with market realities and organizational values, guiding the development of equitable salary bands, and ensuring job families support equitable hiring and promotion decisions. The Director will also develop and execute a comprehensive learning and development strategy, focusing on manager training and performance enablement tools. Additionally, the role involves implementing CHAI's first performance management system, driving organization-wide adoption of performance enablement practices, and serving as a trusted advisor to the HR leadership team. The Director will manage relationships with external vendors and consultants as needed, ensuring that all talent decisions are equitable, transparent, and fair.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree and have at least 10 years of progressive human resources experience, with a minimum of 5 years in senior talent management roles. Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing abilities are essential, as is a strategic mindset combined with a willingness to execute hands-on work. Experience in compensation philosophy, salary structure design, and global pay equity is required, along with a background in developing and implementing performance management systems in large organizations. Multi-country experience is crucial, as candidates must understand how to balance global consistency with local requirements. Strong project management skills and excellent analytical abilities are also necessary, along with outstanding communication skills tailored for diverse audiences.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree is required for this position, with a Master's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, or a related field being advantageous. The educational background should support the candidate's ability to manage complex HR functions and lead organizational transformations effectively.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in human resources, with at least 5 years in senior talent management roles. Experience in managing external consultants and vendors, as well as leading HR transformation initiatives in decentralized organizations, is highly desirable. Multi-country experience is essential, as the role requires understanding diverse international contexts and balancing global consistency with local needs.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, and proficiency in additional languages is considered an advantage. This is particularly important given CHAI's global operations and the need for effective communication across diverse teams and stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This position is remote and can be based in any of CHAI's program countries, pending work authorization and leadership approval. The role is full-time and involves significant leadership responsibilities within the HR team.
