Job Overview: The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position is situated within the Talent Management & Career Support (TMCS) Unit of the Human Resources Management Section (HRMS) at OHCHR. The intern will be involved in supporting the career paths project, which includes calibrating identified learning opportunities, cross-referencing information, collecting relevant learning opportunities, and suggesting new learning opportunities based on specific instructions. This role is designed to provide the intern with hands-on experience in human resources management within a prominent international organization, contributing to the overall mission of promoting and protecting human rights. The internship is expected to last for three months, with the possibility of extension up to six months, and requires full-time commitment of five days per week, totaling 35 hours.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks that support the TMCS Unit's objectives. These tasks include: calibrating identified learning opportunities to ensure they meet the necessary standards; cross-referencing information to maintain accuracy and relevance; collecting additional learning opportunities that align with the career paths project; suggesting new learning opportunities based on the guidelines provided; and performing related tasks as required by the supervisor. The intern will work closely with a Human Resources Officer and will gain valuable insights into the workings of the UN's human resources processes.
Required Qualifications: Applicants must meet one of the following criteria: (a) be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). While professional work experience is not required for this internship, a field of study closely related to the internship is essential. Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in standard software applications, particularly MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, and MS Teams, and familiarity with data analytical tools is considered desirable.
Educational Background: Candidates must be students in the final year of their first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), or enrolled in or have completed a Master’s or Ph.D. program. Proof of enrollment or completion of the relevant academic program must be provided with the application. This educational background ensures that the intern possesses the necessary theoretical knowledge and skills relevant to the tasks they will undertake during the internship.
Experience: While no professional work experience is required for this internship, candidates should have relevant academic experience or coursework that aligns with the responsibilities of the internship.
