Job Overview: The Project Field Coordinator position involves a broad range of support functions during the implementation of the project 'Development of Sustainable Fishery Value Chains in BARMM.' The role requires coordination work, field visits, monitoring, and documentation of activities to achieve project outputs effectively. The Project Field Coordinator will work closely with the Project Team Leader and other specialists to design project activities and ensure timely implementation at the provincial level. The position demands strategic recommendations to enhance project implementation and extend technical support to government partners and stakeholders involved in the project. The coordinator will also facilitate partnerships and inter-agency efforts at the provincial level, ensuring collaboration and coordinated implementation of project activities on the ground.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Project Field Coordinator will have several key responsibilities, including:
Assisting and supporting the Project Team Leader in the timely implementation of the project at the provincial level.
Providing strategic recommendations to enhance project implementation in the assigned province.
Extending technical support to relevant government partners and stakeholders, including local government units (LGUs) and community-based organizations (CBOs).
Facilitating the strengthening of partnerships and inter-agency efforts at the provincial level.
Ensuring coordination with provincial and local government partners for the conduct of project activities.
Preparing and submitting reports for activities undertaken.
Collaborating closely with the Project Team Leader and Specialists for the design of project activities.
Carrying out other relevant duties within technical competence as requested by the FAO Representative.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
A university degree in Fisheries, Aquaculture, Aquatic Resources, Community Development/Organizing, Development Studies, or related fields.
A minimum of five years of relevant experience in fisheries or rural development sectors, including program management, implementation, capacity building, and coordination with government structures, NGOs, and UN agencies.
A working knowledge (level C) of English.
Candidates must be nationals of the Philippines.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in a relevant field such as Fisheries, Aquaculture, Aquatic Resources, Community Development/Organizing, Development Studies, or other related disciplines. It is essential that the degree is obtained from an institution accredited or recognized in the World Higher Education Database (WHED).
Experience: The position requires at least five years of relevant experience in the fisheries or rural development sectors. This experience should encompass program management and implementation, capacity building, and coordination with national and regional government structures, NGOs, and private sector entities, as well as UN agencies. Candidates should demonstrate a proven track record of working effectively in these areas.
Languages: The mandatory language requirement for this position is a working knowledge of English (level C). Additionally, excellent written and oral communication skills in Tagalog are also required. Proficiency in other languages may be considered an asset but is not mandatory.
