Job Overview:
The National Consultant for Integration of software applications and systems will play a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of software applications and systems within the UNDP framework in Bangladesh. This position involves analyzing existing software systems, identifying integration opportunities, and developing strategies to ensure seamless interoperability between various applications. The consultant will be expected to work closely with technical teams, stakeholders, and end-users to gather requirements, design integration solutions, and implement best practices in software integration. The assignment is expected to last for 90 working days over a period of six months, during which the consultant will provide expert advice and support to ensure that the integration processes align with UNDP's goals and objectives. The consultant will also be responsible for documenting the integration processes and providing training to relevant personnel to ensure sustainability and knowledge transfer.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the National Consultant include but are not limited to:
  • Conducting a comprehensive assessment of existing software applications and systems to identify integration needs and opportunities.
  • Collaborating with technical teams to design and implement integration solutions that enhance system interoperability.
  • Developing detailed integration plans and timelines, ensuring alignment with project objectives and stakeholder expectations.
  • Providing technical guidance and support throughout the integration process, including troubleshooting and resolving issues as they arise.
  • Documenting integration processes, methodologies, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing and future reference.
  • Conducting training sessions for staff and stakeholders on the integrated systems and applications to ensure effective usage and maintenance.
  • Engaging with stakeholders to gather feedback and make necessary adjustments to integration strategies.
  • Reporting progress and challenges to UNDP management and making recommendations for improvements.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the National Consultant position should possess the following qualifications:
  • Proven experience in software integration, with a strong understanding of various software applications and systems.
  • Expertise in integration methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex systems and identify integration opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with UNDP's operational framework and development goals is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively under tight deadlines.

Educational Background:
Candidates should have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering, or a related field. A master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred and may be considered an asset. Additional certifications in software integration or project management will be advantageous.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in software integration, systems analysis, or a related field. Experience working with international organizations, particularly in the context of development projects, is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a track record of successful integration projects and the ability to work in a multicultural environment.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Bengali is an advantage and may enhance communication with local stakeholders. Proficiency in additional languages relevant to the region or UNDP's operations is considered a plus.

Additional Notes:
This position is classified as an individual contractor role, and the contract duration is for 90 working days over a period of six months. The consultant is expected to work on a full-time basis during this period. The position is open to both national and international candidates, and compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
