Job Overview:
The position involves volunteering to assist in the review and improvement of hardware specifications for various digital learning devices, including tablets, laptops, and projectors. The primary goal is to create clear and testable specifications that will be used in the procurement and testing of these devices for educational purposes. Volunteers will engage in requirements gathering, drafting specifications, and ensuring that the devices meet necessary performance and interoperability standards. This role is crucial in supporting UNICEF's mission to provide uninterrupted education to children affected by crises, particularly in creating safe and effective learning environments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review functional and non-functional requirements for each device class, ensuring they meet specific performance criteria such as battery life, durability, connectivity, security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, and environmental considerations.
• Produce detailed technical specifications for each device, ensuring clarity and testability.
• Create acceptance criteria that can be tested in both lab and field environments, including developing test procedures.
• Compile individual specification sheets for various devices, including tablets, laptops, projectors, chargers, power banks, headsets, speakers, routers, and cases.
• Develop an acceptance test plan that includes pass/fail criteria and recommendations for test equipment.
• Prepare a final consolidated specification document in both editable Word and PDF formats, ensuring all information is accessible and usable for procurement and testing teams.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with a background in technology or engineering preferred. Familiarity with hardware specifications and testing procedures is essential. Volunteers should be able to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating effective communication skills. A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to meet deadlines is also required.

Educational Background:
A degree in engineering, computer science, information technology, or a related field is preferred. Candidates with relevant certifications or coursework in hardware specifications, project management, or educational technology will be considered favorably.

Experience:
While specific professional experience is not mandatory, familiarity with hardware specifications, testing, and educational technology will be beneficial. Previous volunteer experience in similar roles or projects is a plus, as it demonstrates commitment and relevant skills.

Languages:
