Job Overview: The position involves engaging five Online Volunteers who will contribute their expertise in writing, data analysis, data visualization, literature review, and project coordination. The primary goal is to produce a comprehensive research report titled 'Psychological Foundations of Women’s Empowerment in Papua New Guinea.' This project aims to investigate the psychological and socio-cultural barriers that women face, with a focus on enhancing their participation in community development. The volunteers will work collaboratively to create a final report, analyze data sets, and develop visual outputs that will be shared with partner organizations and academic networks.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Online Volunteers will have specific roles: 1) Writing and Editing Support: Draft and consolidate sections of the report, ensuring clarity and academic tone, and prepare the executive summary and presentation. 2) Literature Review Support: Conduct a literature review on women's empowerment, summarizing findings to strengthen the report's theoretical framework. 3) Data Analysis Support: Analyze provided data sets using statistical tools, producing summaries and tables focusing on key variables. 4) Data Visualization Support: Create visual representations of the data findings, preparing a visual appendix for the report. 5) Research Coordinating and Quality Review Support: Coordinate tasks among volunteers, review drafts for accuracy, and document the research process in a summary report.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should possess complementary expertise in their respective fields. For writing and editing, strong academic writing skills are essential. Literature review support requires familiarity with academic and policy sources related to women's empowerment. Data analysis support necessitates proficiency in statistical tools like Excel, R, or Python. Data visualization support requires experience with software such as Tableau or Power BI. Research coordination support demands strong organizational skills and attention to detail for quality review processes.
