Job Overview:
The position of National Technical Assistance for the Development of an Online Platform aims to facilitate consultation and coordination among stakeholders involved in climate planning processes in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. The selected individual contractor will be responsible for developing a comprehensive online platform that enhances stakeholder engagement and supports effective climate planning initiatives. This role requires a deep understanding of climate issues, stakeholder dynamics, and the technical skills necessary to create and manage an online platform. The contractor will work closely with UNDP and local stakeholders to ensure that the platform meets the needs of all parties involved and contributes to the overall goals of climate planning in Venezuela. The position is expected to last for a period of four months, during which the contractor will be expected to deliver a fully functional platform that is user-friendly and accessible to all relevant stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct a needs assessment to identify the requirements of stakeholders involved in climate planning in Venezuela.
  • Design and develop an online platform that facilitates communication and collaboration among stakeholders.
  • Ensure that the platform is user-friendly, accessible, and meets the technical specifications required for effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Collaborate with UNDP and local partners to gather input and feedback throughout the development process.
  • Provide training and support to stakeholders on how to use the platform effectively.
  • Monitor and evaluate the platform's performance and make necessary adjustments based on user feedback.
  • Prepare and submit progress reports to UNDP detailing the development process and outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with UNDP's procurement and operational guidelines throughout the project.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in developing online platforms or similar digital solutions.
  • Strong understanding of climate change issues and stakeholder engagement processes.
  • Excellent technical skills in web development and design.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with UNDP's operational guidelines and procurement processes is an advantage.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in information technology, environmental science, or a related field is required. A master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred and may be considered an asset.

Experience:
A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in developing online platforms or digital solutions, particularly in the context of climate change or environmental management. Experience working with international organizations or government agencies is highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as the position requires communication with local stakeholders. Proficiency in English is considered an asset, as it may be necessary for reporting and collaboration with international partners.

Additional Notes:
The contract duration for this position is four months, and it is expected to be a full-time engagement. The position is open to both national and international candidates, and compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
