The Center also hosts several global initiatives such as the Business Call to Action and the SDG Philanthropy Platform, which aim to foster collaboration and innovation in addressing global challenges.

Job Overview:
The position of Online Volunteer Translator is part of the Tech4R initiative, which aims to develop an integrated digital disaster assessment toolkit in collaboration with UNDP Armenia. This toolkit combines various technologies, including Kobo Toolbox for data collection, AI for data quality checks, and GIS for visualization. The role of the translator is crucial in ensuring that all user guides, workflows, and instructions are available in Armenian, English, and Russian, which is essential for the effective use of the toolkit by local authorities and responders. The volunteer will work closely with Armenian volunteers and the documentation team to produce accurate and user-friendly multilingual guides that facilitate the adoption and sustainability of the toolkit.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Online Volunteer Translator will be responsible for translating user guides and workflow instructions related to the disaster assessment toolkit. This includes translating tool documentation such as the Kobo forms guide, AI quality checks instructions, and GIS visualization steps between Armenian, English, and Russian. The translator must ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistent terminology that aligns with disaster assessment and digital tools. Additionally, the volunteer will collaborate with Armenian volunteer teams to coordinate terminology and context, review existing content for technical accuracy, and adapt the phrasing to suit the local operational context while maintaining the technical meaning. The goal is to ensure that all translated guides are easily understandable for local authorities and enumerators.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Online Volunteer Translator position should possess strong language skills in Armenian, English, and Russian, with a focus on translation accuracy and clarity. Familiarity with disaster assessment terminology and digital tools is highly desirable. The ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and adapt content for local usability is essential. Candidates should also demonstrate a commitment to volunteerism and a passion for contributing to disaster recovery efforts in Armenia.

Educational Background:
While specific educational qualifications are not explicitly stated, a background in translation, linguistics, or a related field is preferred. Experience in technical writing or documentation may also be beneficial, particularly in the context of disaster management or digital tools.

Experience:
The position does not require extensive professional experience, but prior experience in translation, especially in technical or disaster-related contexts, is advantageous. Familiarity with volunteer work or community engagement initiatives is also a plus, as it demonstrates a commitment to collaborative efforts in addressing local challenges.

Languages:
Mandatory languages for this position include Armenian, English, and Russian. Proficiency in all three languages is essential for effective communication and translation of technical documents. Additional languages may be considered an asset but are not required.

Additional Notes:
This is a volunteer position, and as such, it may not offer financial compensation. The role is expected to be part-time, allowing flexibility for volunteers to manage their time effectively while contributing to the project. The position is focused on local engagement in Armenia, and volunteers may work remotely or in collaboration with local teams. The duration of the volunteer commitment is not specified, but it is likely to align with the project timeline for the development and implementation of the digital disaster assessment toolkit.
