Job Overview:
The Project Assistant position is integral to the Migration & Development Unit at IOM Tunisia, specifically within the Youth Empowerment Pillar. This role involves providing effective and efficient financial, administrative, and programmatic support to the youth empowerment team and related project teams. The Project Assistant will assist in the overall implementation and reporting of projects, ensuring compliance with administrative, legal, and procedural requirements set by the Mission and donors. The position requires close coordination with various stakeholders, including local government institutions, civil society organizations, and the private sector, to enhance youth-related services and support sustainable livelihoods for disadvantaged young individuals at risk of irregular migration. The Project Assistant will also be responsible for maintaining beneficiary databases, organizing activities and events, drafting official correspondence, and contributing to the smooth daily operations of the project.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Assistant will undertake a variety of duties, including but not limited to: assisting in the overall implementation and reporting of the project in compliance with administrative and donor requirements; collecting and maintaining beneficiary-related databases; supporting coordination with other project pillars; organizing activities and events with local stakeholders; taking minutes of meetings and drafting relevant information materials; assisting in drafting official correspondence and ensuring timely dispatch; contributing to monthly and interim reports; managing internal procurement and administrative formalities; maintaining documentation and filing systems; ensuring confidentiality of project-related information; facilitating staff duty travels; and performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Social Science, International Relations, or a related field from an accredited institution, along with at least one year of relevant professional experience. Alternatively, candidates with a High School Degree/Certificate in the aforementioned fields and three years of relevant professional experience will also be considered. Accredited universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's degree or higher in fields such as Business Administration, Social Science, International Relations, or other related disciplines. Candidates with a High School Degree/Certificate in these fields may also qualify if they have sufficient relevant professional experience. The educational qualifications must be from accredited institutions recognized by the UNESCO World Higher Education Database, ensuring that candidates have received a quality education that meets international standards.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have the ability to work effectively and harmoniously with individuals at various levels within and outside the organization, as well as with colleagues from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds. Experience working with government counterparts, private sector entities, international organizations, or non-governmental organizations is considered an asset. Additionally, experience or a strong interest in community stabilization, youth engagement and empowerment, access to education, and socio-economic inclusion will be advantageous for this role. Candidates should demonstrate a proactive approach to their work and a commitment to the mission of IOM.

Languages:
Fluency in Arabic, French, and English is required for all applicants, both in oral and written communication. IOM's official languages include English, French, and Spanish, and proficiency in these languages will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may involve written and/or oral assessments. Strong communication skills in all three languages are essential for effectively engaging with diverse stakeholders and fulfilling the responsibilities of the Project Assistant role.
