Job Overview:
The security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security Assistant position is crucial for the implementation of UNHCR security policies and procedures, aimed at ensuring the safety and security of staff, persons of concern, and premises. The incumbent will work directly under the supervision of the Security Supervisor and will be expected to collaborate closely with both administrative and operational teams. This role involves managing and supervising the heads of security guards across Tunisia, ensuring compliance with established safety and security protocols to mitigate risks. The Security Assistant will also provide technical guidance and ensure that security guards receive regular induction and training, including adherence to the UNHCR Code of Conduct and mandatory courses such as PSEA and BSAFE. The position requires a proactive approach to security management, with responsibilities that include monitoring the presence and punctuality of security personnel, liaising with administrative departments, and contributing to incident reporting and data maintenance.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Security Assistant will have a comprehensive set of duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to: managing and supervising heads of security guards across Tunisia, ensuring compliance with safety and security protocols; providing technical guidance and conducting regular training for security guards; reviewing and approving duty schedules submitted by heads of guards; monitoring the implementation of these schedules and preparing monthly attendance and absence reports; ensuring the daily presence and punctuality of security guards at all locations; liaising with Administration/HR on administrative matters related to guards; supervising CCTV operations and other surveillance systems; contributing to incident reporting by providing data and maintaining security databases; reporting critical incidents occurring on premises or shelters to the Security Supervisor; liaising with police authorities when required; producing daily, weekly, and monthly reports on security activities; acting as Officer-in-Charge (OIC) in the absence of the Security Supervisor; and performing other related duties as required.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with a High School Diploma, or 2 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field. Prior experience in a similar function and environment is considered an asset. Candidates must demonstrate fluency in Arabic and French, both spoken and written, while basic English is an asset. Additionally, candidates should possess basic computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. A clean criminal record is mandatory, and candidates must be vetted by local security authorities, providing a certificate of non-conviction.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a High School Diploma as a minimum, with a preference for candidates holding a Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant fields such as Political Science, Military Studies, Security Management, or related disciplines. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of security management in a humanitarian context.

Experience:
Candidates are expected to have a significant level of experience, specifically a minimum of 5 years in a relevant role with a High School Diploma, or 2 years of experience in a similar capacity with a Bachelor’s degree or higher. Experience in police, military, or corporate security environments is highly desirable, as is familiarity with local security apparatus and protocols relevant to refugee and asylum contexts.

Languages:
