Job Overview: The Camp Coordination and Camp Management Officer position is primarily focused on the day-to-day implementation of the Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) and protection from violence project. The officer will be responsible for ensuring adherence to NRC policies and guidelines while implementing the project portfolio according to the established plan of action. This role involves preparing and developing status reports, ensuring proper documentation, and monitoring beneficiary selection processes to maintain accountability and transparency. The officer will also promote technical improvements and suggest capacity-building measures for the field team, ensuring that the projects effectively target beneficiaries in need of assistance.
Duties and Responsibilities: The officer will lead the implementation of various components of protection monitoring, including case identification and referrals, in accordance with established tools, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and the annual work plan in Gederaf. Responsibilities include conducting regular visits to settlements to engage in focus group discussions, observations, and quantitative surveys to enhance protection monitoring efforts. During field visits, the officer will identify protection cases, provide referrals, and follow up on these referrals. The officer will also ensure timely procurement, development, and distribution of materials and equipment, coordinating with relevant partners and community structures. Additionally, the officer will lead community sensitization and mobilization activities, oversee the distribution process to ensure beneficiaries receive their entitlements, and actively participate in emergency and regular needs assessments. The officer will prepare periodic progress reports, support monitoring and evaluation activities, and represent NRC in coordination meetings with local authorities and NGOs in Gederaf.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Camp Coordination and Camp Management Officer position should possess strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. A solid understanding of humanitarian principles and experience in camp management or protection programming is essential. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the rights of vulnerable populations, with a focus on accountability and transparency in all activities. Proficiency in relevant software and tools for reporting and monitoring is also required.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in social sciences, humanitarian studies, or a related field is required for this position.
