The United Nations Information Centers (UNICs) are part of the Information Centres Services (ICS) within the Campaigns and Country Operations Division (CCOD) of the Department of Global Communications (DGC). Established to serve as the primary sources of information about the United Nations system in various countries, UNICs aim to enhance public understanding of the UN's goals and activities. They disseminate information about the UN's work, particularly in developing nations, to foster greater awareness and support for the organization's initiatives. The UNICs operate in multiple countries, providing a vital link between the UN and the public, and are committed to promoting the ideals of the UN Charter through their outreach efforts.

Job Overview:
This internship is located at the United Nations Information Centre in New Delhi, India, and is designed for individuals who are eager to gain practical experience in a global organization. The internship is initially set for a continuous three-month period, with the possibility of extension up to six months, depending on departmental needs and the intern's availability. Interns will work full-time, five days a week, totaling 35 hours under the supervision of a staff member. The role is unpaid, and interns are expected to contribute to various projects and initiatives that support the UN's mission. Interns will engage in research for UN events and campaigns, assist in the implementation of these campaigns, and provide logistical support for UNIC events. They will also be involved in media monitoring and the preparation of communications materials, which may include public events, web articles, social media posts, and media relations. Duties and Responsibilities:

They will assist in media monitoring to track coverage of UN-related topics and help prepare communications materials, which may include drafting content for the UNIC website and social media platforms. Interns will also assist in organizing and selecting film/video footage for social media and feature stories, and they may be required to fulfill other responsibilities as requested by UNIC colleagues based on their individual backgrounds and skills. This role is designed to provide interns with hands-on experience in a dynamic and multicultural environment, allowing them to develop their skills while contributing to the UN's mission.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for an internship with the United Nations Internship Programme, applicants must meet one of the following criteria: they must be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher), or they must be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent). Additionally, applicants must be computer literate in standard software applications and demonstrate a keen interest in the work of the United Nations, along with a personal commitment to the ideals of the UN Charter. They should also possess the ability to interact successfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and beliefs, showing a willingness to understand and tolerate differing opinions and views. Educational Background:
