Job Overview:
The Fund Raising Specialist (Digital) is responsible for overseeing the acquisition team and managing marketing activities aimed at diversifying income sources from individual giving. This role involves building and managing performance-based marketing campaigns across various channels to enhance conversions in the income funnel. The specialist will analyze market trends to inform acquisition efforts, identify target audiences, and monitor campaign performance. This position is crucial for driving UNICEF's growth and enhancing donor acquisition, focusing on a digital-first and audience-centric approach. The role requires a blend of creative and analytical thinking, applying various business development and marketing techniques to achieve organizational goals. The specialist will also ensure a seamless omnichannel experience for donors while leading digital transformation initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a digital fundraising strategy that aligns with UNICEF's mission and objectives.
  • Monitor, optimize, and enhance digital fundraising performance through data analysis and campaign adjustments.
  • Maintain and improve UNICEF’s digital fundraising infrastructure and e-commerce ecosystem to support fundraising efforts.
  • Represent digital fundraising initiatives within the wider organization, collaborating with other teams to ensure alignment and support.
  • Lead and mentor the acquisition team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities for donor acquisition.
  • Create and manage end-to-end marketing campaigns across multiple digital channels, ensuring effective targeting and messaging.
  • Analyze campaign performance metrics and report findings to stakeholders, making recommendations for improvement.
  • Stay updated on digital marketing trends and best practices to enhance fundraising efforts. 1
  • Collaborate with external partners and agencies to maximize fundraising potential.

Required Qualifications:
  • An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Marketing, Communications, Fundraising, Management, Business Administration, Commerce, digital marketing, or eCommerce is required.
  • A first University Degree in a relevant field, combined with 2 additional years of professional experience, may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree.
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in advertising, performance marketing, eCommerce, or digital marketing with progressively increasing management responsibilities is required.
  • Hands-on experience managing large annual digital paid-media budgets (around USD $3M or higher) is desired.
  • Previous managerial experience of managing a team is essential.
  • Strong commercial acumen and strategic mindset are necessary for building compelling business cases for digital investment.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in relevant fields such as Marketing, Communications, Fundraising, Management, Business Administration, Commerce, digital marketing, or eCommerce. Alternatively, a first University Degree in a relevant field, combined with 2 additional years of professional experience, may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in advertising, performance marketing, eCommerce, or digital marketing, with progressively increasing management responsibilities. Candidates should have direct responsibility for profit and loss and experience in setting and meeting income targets. Hands-on experience in managing large annual digital paid-media budgets is also desired, along with previous managerial experience overseeing a team.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's profile for this role.

Additional Notes:
This position is based in New Delhi, India, and is open to all Indian Nationals and internal candidates with a valid work permit for India. The selected applicant will receive an initial one (1) year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension based on the availability of funds and satisfactory performance.
