Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Senior Advisor include advising the Executive Director and NMT on strategic and internal processes, managing and coordinating meetings, presentations, and schedules for the NMT, and overseeing the Executive Director's missions in accordance with standard operating procedures. The advisor will also coordinate planning and execution for various departmental meetings, annual partnership meetings, executive missions, and high-level engagements, ensuring that agendas, logistics, and follow-up tracking are effectively managed. Additionally, the role involves coordinating the preparation and quality assurance of talking points, speeches, presentations, and briefing materials for internal and external use, in collaboration with the Communication and Advocacy Specialist. The Senior Advisor will engage strategically with key partners and stakeholders on behalf of the Executive Director and Management Team, ensuring visibility, alignment, and effective follow-up. Monitoring international processes and forums relevant to NORCAP's mandate is also a key responsibility, along with overseeing departmental initiatives and management processes, including progress tracking through NORCAP's tools and systems. The advisor may also be assigned other tasks by the line manager as needed.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree in political science, administration, organizational development, social studies, or international relations. Additionally, a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience is required, preferably within the humanitarian, development, and peacebuilding sectors, including experience with multilateral organizations or NGOs.
