The intern will also engage in research and fact-checking to ensure the accuracy and relevance of the content being published. This role is designed to provide valuable experience in the field of communications and development, particularly within the context of the Arab States region.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern's responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, including but not limited to: assisting in the compilation, organization, archiving, and maintenance of Regional Programme data, which includes news articles, photos, videos, and other project files; uploading, publishing, and updating content on various online platforms and social media channels; supporting research and fact-checking efforts for content development and portal updates in both Arabic and English; contributing to the preparation and dissemination of newsletters; assisting in the creation of editorial and content calendars for digital platforms; formatting content and designing visual materials as needed; and carrying out other related support tasks as required by the team. This position requires a proactive approach and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve organizational goals.
Required Qualifications: Candidates applying for the internship must meet specific educational requirements, including being enrolled in a postgraduate degree program in media studies, journalism, communications, information systems, or a related field; being in the final year of a bachelor's degree in the same fields; or having recently graduated with a relevant degree. Additionally, relevant previous experience in communication and social media is considered a plus, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and experience in supporting web and digital initiatives. The ability to assist in organizing and presenting digital content effectively is also essential for this role.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this internship includes enrollment in a postgraduate degree program or being in the final year of a bachelor's degree program in fields such as media studies, journalism, communications, or information systems. Interns will accrue combined sick and annual leave at a rate of 1.5 days per month, which will be prorated for part-time internships. Any unjustified absences exceeding nine days will result in deductions from the monthly stipend. The internship may be conducted in-person or remotely, with stipends adjusted accordingly.
