Job Overview: The Project Assistant position is crucial for supporting the implementation of the NDC 3.0 Readiness project in Jordan, which aims to enhance the country's capacity to meet its climate commitments under the Paris Agreement. Duties and Responsibilities: The Project Assistant will be responsible for a variety of tasks including administrative support such as coordinating project activities, maintaining filing systems, and managing correspondence with stakeholders. They will assist in organizing meetings, preparing logistical arrangements for events, and ensuring that all project documentation is properly maintained. Additionally, the Project Assistant will provide technical support by preparing structured progress reports, participating in meetings, and assisting in monitoring and evaluation activities. Financial tasks will also be part of the role, including assisting in budget preparation, ensuring timely processing of payments, and maintaining financial records. The Project Assistant will work closely with the Project Officer and other team members to ensure the successful implementation of the project.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a minimum of five years of relevant work experience with a secondary education or two years with a bachelor's degree in project management, finance, or related fields. Proficiency in computer software applications, particularly MS Word and Excel, is essential. Experience in project administration, budgeting, and working with international organizations is highly desirable. Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills are required, along with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Educational Background: Completion of Secondary Education is required, while a university degree (Bachelor’s degree) in Business Administration, Finance, IT, management, bookkeeping, or related fields will be considered an advantage. Candidates with relevant educational backgrounds will be given preference, but practical experience is also highly valued.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of five years of progressive relevant experience in project management and budgeting for candidates with secondary education, or two years for those with a bachelor's degree. This experience should include working in project administration and financial management, particularly in contexts related to international development or environmental projects.
Languages: Fluency in both Arabic and English is mandatory for this position, as effective communication with diverse stakeholders is essential. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.
