Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for a wide range of duties including: supporting the finance team with daily operations, assisting in month-end and year-end closing activities, reconciling accounts, compiling and consolidating financial data, reviewing documents for completeness and accuracy, contributing to system development and process improvement initiatives, assisting in the implementation and monitoring of internal controls, developing training materials and guidance notes, drafting and reviewing financial and analytical reports, preparing presentations and dashboards for stakeholders, collaborating on special projects related to process improvement and policy development, and performing any other duties as assigned by supervisors. The intern is expected to deliver tasks in a collaborative, timely, and efficient manner, while also taking advantage of learning opportunities to expand their knowledge and experience in finance and related areas.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must be students currently enrolled in or have recently completed a graduate program or be in the final year of a bachelor's degree program. The major area of study should be in finance, accounting, economics, business administration, or a related field. While no prior work experience is required, any relevant training or coursework that can benefit the United Nations during the internship is advantageous. Specialization in finance, accounting, or business administration is desirable.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this internship includes enrollment in a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent) or being in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's level).
