Job Overview: The HR Coordinator plays a crucial role in implementing the delegated area of responsibilities within the organization. This position is primarily focused on ensuring compliance with NRC policies, donor requirements, and national labor laws in all HR processes and procedures. The HR Coordinator is expected to prepare and submit reports, maintain proper filing of support documents, and implement new country-specific technical SOPs and guidelines. The role also involves supporting line managers with HR procedures, coordinating staff recruitment and exits, and ensuring that staff records are up-to-date. The HR Coordinator will contribute to the implementation of Safe and Inclusive Programming Minimum Standards across their area of responsibility, ensuring quality support for project implementation. This position requires a proactive approach to managing employee relations, promoting well-being, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure effective HR operations.
Duties and Responsibilities: The HR Coordinator will oversee and manage the recruitment process, ensuring compliance with minimum standards and national laws, particularly in response to emergency needs. They will coordinate with both the area office and country office HR teams to manage compensation and benefits, including contract management and payroll administration for both national and international staff. The HR Coordinator will follow up on the onboarding process for newly hired international staff, ensuring they receive necessary training and information. They will provide support to staff and line managers regarding employee relations management, including disciplinary measures and grievance management. Additionally, the HR Coordinator will promote a healthy work-life balance and collaborate with the country office HR team on mental health support. They will also manage HR emergency response plans, coordinate with the Health, Safety, and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security unit on emergency preparedness, and track the emergency team rotation in and out of Gaza.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years' experience working as an HR Coordinator in a humanitarian or recovery context. Previous experience in complex and volatile environments is essential. Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is mandatory, and knowledge of the context in Palestine is highly desirable. Candidates should also possess strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment.
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required for this position. Candidates with advanced degrees or specialized HR certifications may be preferred.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of relevant experience in HR coordination, particularly within humanitarian or recovery settings. Experience in managing HR processes in emergency response situations is highly valued, as is familiarity with national labor laws and donor requirements.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and verbal. Fluency in Arabic is also required, as it is essential for effective communication within the local context and with staff members.
Additional Notes: This position is based in Amman, Jordan, and is classified as Grade (07) Step (01). The contract duration is 6 months, with the possibility of renewal based on the needs of the position, funding availability, and performance.
